The memorial service for Lori Ann Young, 48, Aberdeen, is 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 12, 2012 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Aberdeen, with Pastor Jeff Whillock officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Memorial Park, Aberdeen. Lori passed away Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Avera St. Luke's Hospital at Aberdeen.
A time to share with Lori's family will from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, March 11th, with a prayer service at 5 p.m. at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main Street, Aberdeen.
Lori Ann Allbee was born on October 8, 1963 to Ernest and Doris (Locken) Allbee in Aberdeen. She grew up and attended school in Aberdeen, graduating from Central High School in 1981. She then attended Northern State University where she earned her Bachelor's of Science in Business in 1985. Lori worked at Kesslers while attending both high school and college.
On June 1, 1985, Lori married Harlan Young at Aberdeen. She began work for the Farm Service Agency (FSA) in 1988 and was employed there until the time of her death.
While Lori had many passions, her family and friends came first. Lori was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She was also active in the community and was a member of Great Plains Outdoorsman. Lori enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid trap shooter. She enjoyed tending her flower garden and loved the outdoors. Her Golden Retriever, Bob, held a special place in her heart.
Grateful for having shared Lori's life are her husband, Harlan, Aberdeen, two sons, Eric Young, Blytheville, AR, and Lucas Young, Birmingham, AL, her mother, Doris Allbee, Aberdeen, three brothers, Gary (Dena) Allbee, St. Michael, MN, Neal Allbee, Aberdeen, and Brian Allbee, Aberdeen, her sister-in-law, Nancy (Charlie) Whittlesey, St. Louis Park, MN, her brother-in-law, Donald Young, Aberdeen, and six nieces and nephews, Mike Allbee, Steve Allbee, Kirsten Bertsch, Elizabeth Whittlesey, Claire Whittlesey and Mason Young.
Lori was preceded in death by her father, Ernest and her nephew, Ross Allbee.
